I sat in the backseat of our car between my brother and sister on a hot night, as my mom fanned us with a piece of paper to keep us cool while we slept. We slept many different places and if we could not afford a hotel we found a park bench or barn to sleep in. It felt so adventurous, we never knew where we would go next and I was able to constantly explore new places. I would lay there for hours thinking of what I wanted to be when I grew up. One night while looking at my sweet mom's face filled with desperation and love, I grew an urge to wanted to capture her at that moment. I wanted to keep that image of her for the rest of my life. I love my mom dearly.
As I got older my passion to want to capture these moments, people and places grew. I had seen so many places and met so many people that I wanted to share with everyone. This is what lead me to be a photographer. I have a passion for capturing moments and emotions that you can feel through photographs.
My childhood taught me to make the best of everything and enjoy life to the fullest. Now I have 3 children of my own. Ok, well they are not children anymore. They are 21, 16 and 14 years old, but still my babies. I try to take pictures of them all the time, but they make this grunting noise when I get out the camera...LOL...
I see and feel photographs everywhere. You will normally see me smiling with my camera backpack on and my camera around my neck, looking for a new place to explore, capturing the love between a wonderful couple on their wedding day or capturing families having fun together.
My adventurous nature is what lead me to North Carolina. Moving to Raleigh North Carolina meant I would live 2 hours from the beach and 2 1/2 hours from the mountains. What more could I ask for? My favorite place is the beach though. I could sit on the beach all day with a nice glass of ice cold tea and just relax. I love to boogie board, but to scared to surf...lol..I love to fish and hike. I'm working on getting my mom to move here, but for now I just talk to her on the phone everyday.
